About Roxanne
I'm a super enthusiastic Primary School teacher who will take the time to assess your child's
strengths and weaknesses in order to tailor a program that will help them achieve progress.

I work on the premise that children learn naturally through play, it's just that the type of play and the
materials used changes (and becomes more expensive!) over time.
As teachers, we give children concrete materials to use from which to build their knowledge. From
there, we progress to written statements and then to mental capabilities.

I am available every day after school, via text message and email 24hrs when not in class.

I have an intense dislike of worksheets, and will prepare lessons that correspond with whatever
your child is learning in class at the time I am required.
I can bring my own laptop with broadband internet and have access to a multitude of teaching
resources that students love using. I can also sit and show you programs to make helping your
child fun and less stressful that practice skills and build confidence.

My lessons usually start off with a game, move onto work starting from current knowledge, building
on that and applying it to your child's educational and personal lives. I like to finish on a positive
note, whether that is in the middle of an activity or by playing another game and reflect with your
child what they liked, didn't like or would like to learn more about.

I have found starting a journal between school and home/tutor is beneficial and shows your child's
classroom teacher that you care about their learning and you are active in achieving progress.
It's just a fact, that with class sizes over 20 in most schools, your child will not receive as much
attention as they need. I know how it works and I can build on that.

Feel free to contact me or arrange a meeting to discuss your child's needs.
