About Madhushani (Mandy)
| I recently graduated from California State University Northridge in USA with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. While at university I also worked as a biology and chemistry tutor (for 2 yrs) and supplemental instruction leader for chemistry (for 1.5 yrs), which was an opportunity given to me as an honors student. I also conducted private one on one tutoring for university students as well as high school (grade 10-12) and middle school (grade 6-9) students who requested extra help from me. I have worked with students from varying ethnic backgrounds and I've understood their diverse needs. I know that every student has a potential to learn, and I as the tutor should understand what method of teaching works with him/her. The weekly lessons include thorough teaching of the curriculum, helping students with their homework. Every week I also work with students to prepare them for their exams. There are many techniques I teach them including Problem solving techniques that are highly specific, designed to maximise their exam results. My approach to teaching is highly systematic, mathematical and scientific, yet flexible. Tutoring has been a great passion for me, as well as coming up with studying strategies for students to suit their own ways. |
