About Balwinder(Belle)
I am a trained teacher from Singapore. I hold a Diploma In Education.

Teaching/tutoring experiences
As a tutor for about 18 years, and with added experience of teaching Mathematics, Science and English (including phonics for those in lower primary levels) in a well-established primary school for 8 years, I maintain high standards of professionalism while ensuring that my students are not only focus-driven but that they also develop an appreciation for learning. I am creative and adaptable in the preparation and development of worksheets and a range of assessments that are student-centred, and believe in critical-thinking approaches that challenge my students to enhance their optimum potential in learning.
Having taught in a classroom, and tutored students individually and in groups, I am confident in being able to manage a diverse range of abilities and learning styles, and am able to adapt to individual learning needs.

More about myself
As a teacher, and having two children myself in the primary level, I am highly in-tuned with the curricular and strongly believe in inculcating the love for learning in them. My approaches as a teacher involves the development of useful social, creative and learning skills that aim to encourage holistic learning in children as opposed to rote learning, particularly in a time of economic uncertainties whereby such skills are highly relevant and valued. Further to that, it is vital to facilitate the discovery of knowledge that spans beyond the textbooks, and for children to learn about the wider world that exists beyond the classroom. Thus, the primary level forms the basis for the enhancement of such skills that serve to be vital traits as they proceed through their life’s learning journey.
Students are taught to set goals and to achieve in the direction of those personal goals in order to ensure a sense of self-worth. Perseverance is a fundamental characteristic that I strongly believe in and, as such, am always motivating my students towards higher pursuits and to adopt an unwavering ‘never give up’ attitude for learning.
Many of my students have proceeded on to higher levels of learning and they value the skills that they learnt at a young age that has been vital in developing their individualism today.
