About Alessio
Born in Manfredonia (FG) in 1980, after guitar diploma at the Conservatory "C.Pollini " of Padova, with Giovanni Grano , he studied with Giulio Tampalini at the “Accademia della Chitarra di Brescia" and with Angelo Gilardino at theAccademia "F. A. Vallotti "in Vercelli. He attended masterclasses and seminars with guitarists, composers and musicologists, including Claudio Ambrosini, Giacomo Baroffio, Egidio Pozzi, Giancarlo Facchinetti, Antonio Giacometti, Giovanni Podera, José Luis del Puerto, Luigi Biscaldi. Awarded in some national and international competitions, he has performed in important festivals such as the International Festival "Brescia Chitarra", "Chitarre d’autunno - Brescia," and "Ars Citarae Novae - Rome ", "MusicaMuseo - Vercelli". In 2008 he performed live on Sky TV channel 830, during of the awarding ceremony of the "Premio Argos Hippium". Instrumentalism was always supported with a continuos musicological research: after a degree in Musicology at the Conservatory of Padova, he obtained, with honors, a Master Degree in "Music Tecnologies”(major “Music publishing”) with the multimedia thesis “Il tenebrismo: la chitarra della noche oscura da Manuel de Falla ad Angelo Gilardino", reviewed in the December 2008 by ‘Suonare News’ magazine. He has worked on important projects such as creating the bibliographic fund “Cesare Pollini ", introduced in 2002 at the" Congress of the Italian Society of Musicology”, and transcriptions of premiered works such as “La Clemenza di Tito” by Baldassare Galuppi. He was assistant stage manager for Aida by G. Verdi, and for the world premiere in modern times of “La Clemenza di Tito” by B. Galuppi. In 2010 he published the essay ”Le romanze
da salotto di Michele Belluci. Le edizioni a stampa e i manoscritti autografi”; a new essay about “Guitar Tenebrism in XX century” is next to publishing. He is guitar professor at Liceo Musicale "C. Montanari "in Verona. He plays guitars made by Giuseppe Guagliardo (2010) and Luis Arbàn (1975)
Nowadays Alessio is attending a Postgraduate Community Access Program at Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, studying Composition, Orchestration, Chamber Music and Academ English.
