Working with Children Check.

Tutors should note that as of June 30th, 2010 it is a legal requirement for you to have a working with children check if you are working with people under the age of 18.  It is your responsibility to comply with all laws including the working with children check.  You can get the application form from the nearest Australia Post outlet.  The application fee for a Working with Children (WWC) Check is $73.90. This fee is GST exempt and non-refundable. A WWC Check is valid for five years (unless revoked or surrendered prior). Your application to the Victorian State Government cannot be accepted without the application fee, which must be paid when you apply at a participating Australia Post outlet. The application fee can be paid by cash, EFTPOS or credit card. If a WWC Check is required for your employment, it may be possible to claim the application fee as a tax deduction. You should consult the Australian Taxation Office in relation to your specific circumstances.

We encourage parents and students to request to see a copy of the working with children check prior to commencing any tutoring with the tutors listed on this site.

Prior to starting any tutoring assignment, Tutors must provide parents of students under the age of 18 with a copy of their WWC accreditation.
